Biogas Plant Superintendent
We are looking for a dynamic, self-motivated team member, to join us in the operations of our high-tech biogas plant situated in Riche Terre, Mauritius. The Biogas Plant Superintendent will report to the Site Manager.

- Responsible for the overall operation and maintenance of a wastewater treatment plant. Take ownership of the operation and maintenance of a wastewater treatment plant, auxiliary equipment, laboratory equipment/ functions, methods and procedures involved in the testing of solids, liquids and gases present in the processes.
- Understands and correctly interprets technical manuals, drawings, blueprints, schematics, and diagrams.
- Explains and coordinates work instructions by scheduling assignments and overseeing the work of Wastewater Treatment Plant Operators & Maintenance Technicians.
- Provides training to the Operations Team.
- Participate in the maintenance, repair and installation of wastewater treatment plant equipment and instrumentation.
- Identify operational problems and take effective courses of action.
- Make independent technical decisions to maintain proper treatment process.
- Maintain records and compile data into written reports.
- Adhere to H&S procedures, manage regular checks of safety equipment, keeping the records and files, reporting incidents and near-misses.
Requirements and qualifications
- Diploma/Degree in Technical field.
- Minimum 4 years experience in operations & maintenance of pumps, electromechanical equipment & Instrumentation.
- Experience with biological/chemical processes involved in wastewater treatment will be an advantage.
- Good understanding of operational requirements for wastewater-related equipment namely pumps, blowers, sensors, parameter controllers, aerators, mixers, screens, etcetera.
- Attentive to details and eager to learn in a dynamic environment.
- Rigorous, disciplined and punctual, as well as an outstanding ability to work well within a team.

Maintenance Technician
As a Maintenance Technician, you will be taught to operate the plant and drive towards general efficiency with technical capabilities to assist in the performance of maintenance in both a mechanical and electrical capacity. The aim would be to assist in performing equipment services as assigned and overseen by the Maintenance Manager. This position is available for our plant in Mauritius.

- Assist the field operator or control room operator on any of their tasks if so required.
- Monitor the process in the field and on Scada to ensure it continues to operate as planned.
- Manage the maintenance tasks in his shift as allocated and planned by the maintenance manager.
- Resolve malfunction with additional communication from the Site manager, production manager or maintenance manager.

- Assist the control room operator with data collection.
- Keep the maintenance manager informed of spare parts used and ensure he is fully up to speed on materials consumed.
- Manage suppliers or contractors doing work on site and ensure they have cleaned and finish their work after completion and signing off of permit to work.
- Do a daily site walk around and record anything out of order.
- Take responsibility to keep the site clean from trash; materials placed by contractors and other materials.
- Assist in assigned maintenance activities
Requirements and qualifications
- Established troubleshooting skills.
- General working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of software. (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Must be able to work independently, self-motivate, and communicate effectively.
- Valid driver’s license.
- ‘Can do’ attitude.

Site operator
As a Site Operator you will report to the Site Manager to conduct all plant routine and non-routine maintenance and repairs. The Site Operator will take ownership in plant performance and tackle challenges to help Operations Leadership achieve their goals. This is a hands-on role where a willingness to learn and commitment to safety culture will be crucial.
What we offer
We offer you a lot of responsibility and duties, such as:
- Manage truck deliveries and assist the truck drivers with the delivery of manure.
- Assist trucks with collection of ammonium sulphate, pellets, liquid digestate.
- Using SCADA system to operate plant efficiently.
- Communicate with the control room and maintenance operator if you hear or see anything out of the ordinary.
- Complete work in the field that keeps the production process ongoing:
- Unblocking of pipes,
- Emptying of storage tanks,
- Manual work required other than above.
- Do daily checks as setup by the Site Manager; Production Manager or Maintenance Manager.
- Assist with maintenance tasks as required and scheduled with the Maintenance Manager.
- Accept deliveries and make sure its stored at the designated storage location.
- Do a daily site walk around and record anything out of order.
- Take responsibility to keep the site clean from trash, materials placed by contractors and other materials.
Requirements and qualifications
- 1 – 5 years of site operations and other related experience.
- At least trade school certification.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and background.
- Basic Windows based computer skills.
- Established troubleshooting skills.
- Experience in maintenance planning and preventative maintenance strategies
- General working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of software. (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Must be able to work independently, self-motivate, and communicate effectively.
- Valid driver’s license.
- ‘Can do’ attitude.
